Source: theblock.co7/22/2025

On Tuesday, SpaceX, the aerospace company owned by Elon Musk, completed its first cryptocurrency transaction in three years, moving $150 million in Bitcoin. According to Arkham Intelligence, a wallet linked to SpaceX, specifically "15oKQ…7Jf1G," transferred 1,308 BTC to a new address, "bc1q8…hartf." This transaction is significant as it marks SpaceX's first movement of cryptocurrency since June 10, 2022, during which the company previously transferred 17,314 BTC to Coinbase in several batches of around 1,200 BTC each. SpaceX did not publicly disclose the reason for this recent Bitcoin transfer, and inquiries from The Block for comments have gone unanswered. Following the transaction, SpaceX now retains 6,977 BTC, valued at approximately $825 million, while Tesla, another of Musk’s enterprises, holds 11,509 BTC, worth around $1.36 billion. Arkham previously reported that Tesla and SpaceX together possess over $2 billion in Bitcoin, acquired at an average price of about $32,000. Elon Musk’s companies have seen a combined profit of nearly $1.5 billion from these Bitcoin holdings. This movement of Bitcoin by SpaceX comes at a time when mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies is rapidly increasing, fueled by former President Trump’s pro-crypto rhetoric and new supportive legislation. This growing trend has driven many traditional financial firms to establish Bitcoin treasuries or introduce crypto-related services. In a related note, Musk recently announced the formation of the "America Party," a political group aimed at challenging the two-party system, stating that his new party would advocate for Bitcoin.
