Sony Launches Scoring System for Blockchain Activity

Sony's Soneium blockchain has unveiled 'Soneium Score,' a scoring system aimed at tracking and rewarding genuine participation within the blockchain ecosystem as on-chain scoring becomes more popular. According to a statement shared with The Block, this mechanism is intended to help users establish a lasting identity through their activities. The system awards points based on various on-chain activities, such as asset swapping, staking, and non-fungible token (NFT) transactions. Participation is assessed across four categories: daily activity streaks, liquidity contributions, NFT holdings, and bonus activities related to featured projects. Soneium aims to tackle two prevalent issues in blockchain ecosystems: the inconsistency in measuring user reputation and the challenges that projects encounter in engaging active participants. "Season 1 launches with notable ecosystem partners to provide users with immediate opportunities to enhance their reputations while exploring a variety of applications in DeFi, gaming, and digital collectibles," stated Soneium. Soneium operates as an Ethereum Layer-2 network developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs, a collaboration between Sony Group Corporation and Startale Labs.
