Hong Kong's OSL Group reported significant revenue growth in the first half of 2025. Total revenue reached HK$195.4 million ($25.1 million), marking a 58% increase compared to the previous year. However, the company also experienced a rise in operating losses, which amounted to HK$20.3 million ($2.6 million), up from HK$9.6 million ($1.2 million) the year before. This loss was attributed to the increase in personnel needed to support global expansion. A separate statement from OSL indicated that the revenue surge was mainly due to organic growth and strategic acquisitions. By June 2025, staff numbers grew to 568 from 167 in the prior year. Key acquisitions included the purchase of the Japanese crypto exchange CoinBest in February and a $15 million deal for a 90% stake in Evergreen Crest, which operates an Indonesian exchange. In addition, OSL's new service, OSL Pay, generated HK$55.9 million ($7.2 million) in H1 2025, accounting for 29% of total revenue. OSL Pay provides crypto on-and-off ramp services worldwide. Kevin Cui, OSL Group's CEO, noted, "Growth and investment defined OSL Group’s performance in the first half of this year," emphasizing their robust core business and leading market position in ETF custodial assets in Hong Kong. OSL’s stock saw a 6.6% increase as of Friday midday in Hong Kong, with a year-to-date gain of 114.3%.
