Metaplanet Surpasses Galaxy in Bitcoin Holdings

Metaplanet has acquired 1,005 additional BTC, valued at approximately $108 million, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 13,350 BTC. This acquisition places them above Galaxy Digital and CleanSpark. The company's CEO, Simon Gerovich, confirmed the purchase at an average price of $107,601 per bitcoin. On the financial side, Metaplanet announced issuing zero-interest bonds worth 30 billion yen ($208 million), with redemption scheduled for December 2025. Proceeds from these bonds will partly fund a buyback and cancellation of previous bonds, with the remainder allocated for further Bitcoin purchases. The company’s stock surged 9.9% on Monday, reflecting a 53.5% increase over the month and 370.7% year-to-date.
