Judge Overturns Fraud Convictions for Mango Markets Exploiter

A U.S. judge ruled that New York prosecutors lacked the proper venue to convict Avraham Eisenberg for fraud committed on the DeFi platform Mango Markets. This decision reversed two of his convictions and acquitted him of a third. Judge Arun Subramanian concluded that the evidence presented did not show Eisenberg had any significant ties to New York during the scheme. The court found that his actions, including manipulating an oracle to inflate asset value, did not violate wire fraud laws. Despite this legal victory, Eisenberg still faces unrelated charges and a four-year sentence for possession of child sexual abuse material. Mango Markets ceased operations earlier this year.
