Asiff Hirji Joins Figure as President

Figure, a financial services startup utilizing blockchain technology and founded by ex-SoFi CEO Mike Cagney, has appointed Asiff Hirji, the former COO of Coinbase, as its new president. The announcement was made in a press release from the San Francisco-based company, which stated that Hirji has already begun working at the company’s headquarters. Mike Cagney commented that Hirji has been 'a critical advisor' in managing Figure's growth and transforming financial services globally. He emphasized the importance of Hirji's extensive experience in the financial sector and his track record of helping companies grow, which will be essential for Figure's development and the establishment of their new merchant bank. Hirji left Coinbase in May following the exit of CTO Balaji Srinivasan. Before his time at Coinbase, he served as an operating partner at Andreessen Horowitz and was previously the president and COO of TD Ameritrade. In December, Figure secured a significant $103 million in Series C funding, reaching a valuation of $1.2 billion. The company specializes in offering home equity loans via its proprietary blockchain, Provenance.
